We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Holiday and break. Prior to break, we had an excellent assembly where the staff, 8th grade volleyball team, and 8th grade football team displayed their volleyball skills to the student body. Fun was had by all and it was a nice kick off to our break. The gym was filled with school spirit for sure.
It may be winter, but we are already planning for the optional 8th grade trip to Washington DC this May. The $100 deposit to secure your spot is due at 4:00 PM today, December 5. This can be completed via the Parent Portal under fees. If you participated in the Stoller fundraiser, your secondary balance has been adjusted based upon the level of items you sold. Even if you participated in the fundraiser, the $100 deposit is required. Reach out to [email protected] with any questions about this process or the trip in general. The dates of the trip are May 4 - 6.
Pep Club and Student council will be hosting their annual Deck the Halls event Monday, December 8. This event is right after school until 5:00 PM. Students need to bring their own supplies including wrapping paper, garland, bows, scissors, tape, etc. Please no glitter or glue. I am always impressed with the creativity of our students as they decorate their lockers. It brings such cheer to the hallways at Shore. As a reminder, all decorations need to be taken down prior to leaving for winter break.
The end of the first semester is around the corner. It’s hard to believe that we will be half way done with the school year in just a couple of weeks. I am proud of the hard work our students have put in thus far and know they will continue to strive for greatness the rest of the school year. Grades will be visible on the parent portal on January 6. Please be sure to check the homework hotline HERE to ensure your child is up to day with any missing assignments. We want their grade to fully reflect their learning progress over the quarter.
