Shore's Art Department

Hi Shore families!

We hope this finds you well. Sadly, we will not be able to have our Art Show which was supposed to be today, May 15. All our students have worked so hard throughout the school year to increase their design skills, technique using various media, craftsmanship, and creativity. Their work has really been impressive.

Our 7th and 8th Grade Fine Art students have been working on surfboards from early February. They formed their surfboards at school out of an insulation board, using a hot wire cutter, then sanding the form and priming it. During remote learning, they’ve been painting, drawing, and creating their designs on them. They supported each other through Zoom calls and Seesaw.

These surfboards were going to be displayed at our Art Show to go along with this year’s theme:

Tidal Wave of Creativity.

Throughout the next two weeks, we’ll be highlighting some of our 6, 7, and 8th grade students’ outstanding artwork (through social media), including their surfboards. Keep an eye on our Twitter &/or Instagram for our “Art Show” postings.

Our students are also collaborating to create a “Virtual” Art Show to share their favorite works of art from the year. This will be out the week of May 25!

We’re sorry our 6 and 7th grade students will not be able to get their artwork from school at this time, but artwork can be viewed all the time on Artsonia! We hope you take some time to look & enjoy! Shore Artsonia Link

We’re looking forward to sharing artwork with you throughout the next few weeks.
